Herb Janow attended the University of Massachusetts for his pre-medical studies and then followed up his education at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine where he received a degree of Doctor of Podiatric Medicine.

He now lives and paints in two locations. In the summer he finds himself in the beautiful Catskill Mountains of New York on the banks of a large scenic lake. And in the winter you can find him where the sun is warm and always shines in southern Florida. His wife Ellie continues to be his best critic and his constant source of motivation and companion.

While still in private practice, as a Podiatric Surgeon, Herb studied painting and sculpture at the Brooklyn Museum Art School from 1957 thru 1976. He followed up his studies with courses at the Art Students League, The New School in New York, the Boca Raton Museum Art School and at The Orange County Community College in New York.

He has participated in numerous juried art shows, won awards and is represented in private collections throughout the United States, Canada and Israel. He has been a Signature Member of the Boca Museum Artists’ Guild,  a member of the Coral Springs Art Guild, the Delray Art League , the Catskill Art Society, the Allied Artists of America & Hudson Valley Art Association and Delaware Valley Art Alliance & Palm Beach Water color Society.
